The Rhone River

One of Western Europe's significant rivers passing through picturesque landscapes, major cities and fertile agricultural regions. There are foodie favourites along the way like Dijon and Avignon plus fabulous historic sites like Pont du Gard and Châteauneuf-du-Pape

When is the best time for a Rhone River cruise?

We love this region in Spring time or early Summer April to June. Temperatures are milder, the vineyards are in bloom and by late June you usually have the spectacular Provence lavender fields in flower. Crowds are usually smaller and it is an excellent time for seeing the sights
July to August: This is the hot season where temperatures rise and with it the joy of long daylight hours and lively outdoor summer festivals that bring the towns alive along the river
September to October: Autumn brings the beautiful colours and also the time for the grape harvest in the Rhone Valley, fewer tourists and cooler days make it the perfect time for food & wine experiences
Spend extra time in Lyon or Arles pre or post cruise, to really experience the fantastic gastronomy of this region
