Frequently Asked Questions About Tailor-Made Cruise Holidays
Even though you're booking online, you're never on your own.
Every booking is assigned a dedicated Cruise Specialist who will be your personal point of contact from your initial enquiry right through to your return home. Whether you need advice before you travel or support while you're away, our experienced team is here to help every step of the way.
While it is possible, we strongly recommend arriving at least one day before your cruise departure. Flying in the day before provides peace of mind and helps protect you against unexpected flight delays, cancellations, lost luggage, weather disruptions, or other travel issues that could cause you to miss embarkation.
For most Fly & Cruise holidays, arriving early is the safest and most stress-free way to start your cruise holiday. Many travellers also choose to add a pre-cruise hotel stay so they can relax and explore the departure city before boarding their ship.
Yes! All international flights included in our Fly & Cruise packages are booked as through fares and include checked luggage — even with airlines like Jetstar and Air New Zealand.
Let's face it, when you're heading off on a cruise holiday, it's no good booking a seat-only fare and then trying to squeeze everything into a carry-on! We package our cruise holidays with checked baggage included, so you can pack what you need and start your holiday stress-free.
Yes. When you build your own Fly & Cruise package, you'll only be required to pay the cruise line deposit when making your booking.
However, the flight component of your cruise package must be paid in full within 24 hours of booking to secure your airfare. Airlines don't like holding seats for long, and if payment isn't received, the flights may automatically cancel.
If you're unsure about payment deadlines or deposit requirements, our Cruise Specialists are always happy to help.
Absolutely! Once your flights have been paid for and your airline tickets have been issued, you'll be able to access your booking directly through the airline's website or app.
From there, you can add your Frequent Flyer number, select your preferred seats (where available), manage your booking, and take care of any other airline-specific requests.
Just keep in mind that seat selection policies vary between airlines, and some may charge an additional fee for advance seat selection.
This one's really important! All passenger names must match your passport exactly.
Please don't use nicknames, shortened names, preferred names, or middle names that don't appear on your passport. Even a small difference can cause issues with your airline booking and could result in denied boarding.
When booking your cruise holiday and flights, always enter passenger names exactly as they appear on the passport that will be used for travel.
This simple step can save a lot of stress at the airport!
Yes, we do! If you'd prefer to travel in Premium Economy, Business Class, or even First Class, our Cruise Specialists can help tailor a Fly & Cruise package to suit.
At the moment, premium cabin fares don't appear in our standard online search results, so you'll need to get in touch with our team for pricing and availability.
After all, if you're treating yourself to an amazing cruise holiday, why not start the holiday the moment you step on the plane?
Airlines and cruise lines work a little differently. While many cruise lines release sailings up to three years in advance, most airlines only open their flight schedules around 10 months before departure.
That means if you're booking a cruise well in advance, we may not be able to confirm the flights straight away. Don't worry though — we'll keep an eye on things and arrange your flights as soon as airline inventory becomes available.
The good news? You can still secure your cruise holiday early and lock in the best cruise deals, then add the flights when the airlines release them.
If you require a wheelchair, mobility assistance, or any special assistance during your flights, please let our team know at the time of booking.
Airlines have specific requirements and procedures for passengers travelling with wheelchairs, mobility aids, medical equipment, or other accessibility needs. The earlier we know, the better we can help ensure everything is arranged for a smooth and stress-free journey.
Our Cruise Specialists will guide you through the airline requirements and help make sure your Fly & Cruise holiday gets off to the best possible start.
That depends on the hotel you choose.
During the booking process, you'll have the option to add daily breakfast to your hotel stay where available. Some hotels may already include breakfast, while others offer it as an optional extra.
Whether you're booking a pre-cruise hotel stay or extending your holiday after your cruise, you'll be able to see the available meal options before confirming your booking.
After all, starting the day with breakfast already sorted makes holiday mornings a whole lot easier!
Some hotels in destinations across Europe, the USA, the Pacific, and Asia charge local tourist taxes, city taxes, or resort fees that are payable directly to the hotel at check-in or check-out.
Where possible, we'll provide an indication of these charges during the booking process. However, these fees are set by local authorities or the hotel itself and unfortunately cannot be prepaid as part of your hotel booking.
The good news? They're usually not a surprise if you know about them beforehand — which is exactly why we try to flag them wherever we can.
